Jocelyn Edelstein / Director
Jocelyn is a writer, director and choreographer from Portland, Oregon. Believe The Beat is her first feature length documentary. Jocelyn previously directed Fe Na Batida, a dance-focused docu-series for Canal Arte Um in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the dance-for-camera short, Ela Fala, which recently got accepted into the Fuselage Film Festival. Jocelyn is the founder of the Urban Body Project, a multi-media collective that explores the connections between dance, culture and community. |
Zak Kilberg / Executive Producer
Zak Kilberg is the founder of Social Construct Films, which handles the creative development, financing, production and worldwide sales for a slate of feature films and television series. Kilberg’s projects have won awards at major film festivals including Sundance and have been acquired by top distributors worldwide including Lionsgate, Universal, HBO, IFC, Tribeca and more. In 2014 Zak joined leading entertainment law firm SmithDehn LLP (CITIZEN FOUR, SEARCHING FOR SUGAR MAN) as Head of Packaging and Sales, also partnering with them to form production company Convergent Media (UK/US) where he serves as Creative Director, and through which he produced the BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB follow up documentary w/ 2x Oscar nominated director Lucy Walker and 3x Oscar nominee Wim Wenders Executive Producing. Zak is currently producing the NY Times bestselling memoir GUANTANAMO DIARY, w/ Benedict Cumberbatch (DOCTOR STRANGE, THE IMITATION GAME), the critically-acclaimed book SAY HER NAME, with BAFTA-nominated producer William Horberg (THE KITE RUNNER, COLD MOUNTAIN) and Oscar nominated screenwriter Scott B. Smith (A SIMPLE PLAN), and the untitled 1921 Tulsa race riot feature film directed by Tim Story (FANTASTIC FOUR, RIDE ALONG, BARBERSHOP). He is also Executive Producing a new branded music series with Oscar-winning producer Bruce Cohen (AMERICAN BEAUTY, SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK, BIG FISH). |
